At McLellan Financial Services, we are an independent financial services and investment management firm founded by James McLellan. During James’ college years, he discovered a passion for the financial markets and investments. He realized that, without a thorough knowledge of investing and financial planning strategies, managing one’s personal finances can be daunting. He realized he could combine his desire to help people and passion for finance to help individuals, families, and business owners understand how to manage their assets and feel more confident as they prepare for retirement.
After working with a large brokerage firm for a number of years, James believed that by working as an independent advisor, he could provide more personalized service to clients without any biases or conflicts of interest. He founded McLellan Financial Services in order to serve independently and offer objective advice and guidance.
Today, with more than 35 years of experience, James continues to serve with his clients’ needs at the forefront of all strategies he creates and all recommendations he makes.
As an independent firm, McLellan Financial Services offers clients comprehensive and diverse investment, wealth management, and insurance services. Based in Rochester, Michigan, they serve a number of clients in the greater Oakland County, throughout Michigan, and across the country.
